Aromas of rose petal, lychee and spices are immediate and captivating. A textured palate, with a slight sweetness which is at once intense with a persistent long finish. Extremely versatile food wine - marries beautifully with the exotic spices of Moroccan, Indian and Far Eastern cuisines. A cracking vintage.
Winemaking Notes
The Spring Vale Gewürztraminer vines were planted in 1996 and an additional 1 hectare was planted at the ‘Melrose’ vineyard, just to the north of Spring Vale, in 2008. In 2015 the older Spring Vale wines returned to average yield and the fruit was pristine.
During the ripening period we experienced cool temperatures and above average rainfall, yet the flavour development in the grapes came on very early and we harvested nearly three weeks earlier than in 2014.
